RR 8 | Rewind Interview with Kent Lewis and Building a Great Marketing Team

This is a picture of Kent Lewis on the Rethink Podcast talking about building a great marketing team.

In this Rethink Rewind podcast extra, we return to our conversation with Kent Lewis, president of Anvil Media, who talks about building a great marketing team.

At Act-On, our tech and engineering team recently enjoyed an white-water rafting trip. It is one of those team-building, relaxation and have a good time events that all companies do.

But watching them learning to quickly work together, paddling to avoid big boulders and crazy rapids, reminded me of our podcast interview with Kent last fall.

During the interview, he talked about the importance of building a great team, and empowering them to be successful for themselves and for the business.

Specifically, we talked about the University of Washington’s men’s rowing team that would eventually go on to win the 1936 Olympic Gold Medal. Before standing atop the podium, there were years of training in all sorts of weather conditions, and team configurations, trying to find that perfect swing of the oars slicing through the water, pulling the boat forward, faster and faster.

Kent tells us how he brought that Swing analogy to life in Anvil Media.

Enjoy the conversation, and we hope you can get one or two takeaways that you can bring to your business.
