When we told you we hit the ground running in Q1, we should have mentioned that this isn’t a sprint. As of the end of Q2, we have achieved our 10th consecutive quarter of growth and taken a new position in the highly competitive marketing automation industry.
We were even more proud when David Raab of Raab Associates, a long-time maven in the field of marketing automation, had this to say:
“Growth in the B2B marketing automation industry is increasingly concentrated among a handful of vendors [and] Act-On is the latest to join this exclusive club.” He goes on to say that “[Act-On’s] ability to stand out in a crowded market is based on a combination of quality technology, solid execution, and a sharp focus on the needs of small to mid-size companies and small marketing teams at larger companies.”
While we can attribute this success to the large market opportunity or the company’s strategy to go after the underserved small and mid-size company market, our founder and CEO, Raghu Raghavan sums it up well when he says:
“Our success is due to the untiring effort of our employees who build, sell and support our products and the loyalty of our customers who have made us an integral part of their revenue generation.”
Here are some highlights from our last quarter:
- Customer Momentum
In Q2 2012 we acquired 277 new customers, compared to 246 customers added in the previous quarter (Q1 2012).
- Product Innovation
In June, we released Act-On Insight, an important new capability that lets marketers benchmark themselves against their competitors, tracking online marketing metrics and social efforts including traffic and keyword effectiveness.
- Expansion of the Leadership Team
Our employee base grew over 200% during the last year and we continue to add talent in all major functional areas. We appointed experienced email and online marketing professional David Fowler to the position of chief privacy and deliverability officer.
- Industry Recognition and Awards
Act-On Software continues to gain recognition in the industry. Accolades received this quarter included: TechAmerica Oregon’s Rising Star Company of the Year and DemandGen Reports’ 2012 Sales and Marketing Integration Award.
